Outdoor Snowplows are the core equipment for snow clearing operations in urban roads, scenic areas, and factory premises during winter. Given the low-temperature operating environments and complex road conditions, a comprehensive pre-operation component inspection is a critical step to prevent sudden breakdowns and ensure operational safety and efficiency. Inspections are typically conducted across five major categories: the power system, the driving and braking mechanisms, the snow removal execution units, the hydraulic and electrical systems, and the safety protective components. The specific requirements are as follows:

First is the power system inspection, which forms the foundation for stable equipment operation. For diesel-powered snowplows, it is crucial to check the fuel level and grade: in the low-temperature environments of northern regions, the diesel grade must match the ambient temperature (e.g., using -20# diesel in a -20℃ environment). Fuel lines must also be checked for leaks or damage to prevent stalling or fire hazards during operation. For engine oil, pull out the dipstick to ensure the level is between the upper and lower marks, and observe whether the oil is cloudy or contains metal particles. If the oil is black or foamy, it must be replaced in advance to prevent engine wear. The coolant level and freezing point must also be checked; in low-temperature environments, the freezing point should be at least 5℃ lower than the local minimum temperature. Additionally, ensure the cooling fan operates smoothly without any debris entangled in it. For electric snowplows, the battery pack voltage must be checked, and the wiring terminals should be inspected for corrosion or looseness to ensure a stable power supply.

Second is the driving and braking system, which directly impacts operational control and safety. For the driving system, check each tire's pressure against the equipment's requirements, and inspect the tread for cracks, embedded ice/snow chunks, or sharp objects. Ensure the tread depth of the drive wheels meets the standard (shallow treads easily cause slipping). Wheel rim bolts and hub nuts must be tightened to prevent wheels from falling off during transit. The braking system is a core safety item: for air-braked vehicles, check if the air pressure gauge reading is within the normal operating range and listen for any air leaks in the brake lines. For hydraulic-braked vehicles, top up the brake fluid to the specified level, check if the brake pads are below the wear limit, and inspect the brake discs for deformation or scratches. The parking brake must be tested multiple times to confirm it locks securely and releases smoothly, preventing the vehicle from rolling when parked.

Third is the snow removal execution mechanism, which directly determines the snow clearing effectiveness. For roller-brush snowplows, inspect the brush bristles for severe wear, bending, or shedding. Check if the flange bolts securing the brush are tight, and ensure there are no abnormal noises during rotation. For snow-throwing snowplows, inspect the impeller blades for deformation or breakage, and verify that the angle adjustment mechanism for the discharge chute is flexible, allowing normal adjustment of the throwing direction and height. For front-mounted snow scrapers, check the wear level of the rubber or metal blades, and ensure the clearance between the blade and the ground is adjusted to 3-5 millimeters (too large a clearance leaves residual snow, while too small a clearance can scratch the pavement). The lifting cylinders or lead screws of the scraper must operate smoothly without sticking, ensuring stable lifting and lowering during operation.

Fourth is the hydraulic and electrical control system, which ensures precise and controllable snow clearing actions. For the hydraulic system, check if the hydraulic oil tank level is within the gauge range and if the oil is brown and free of impurities. Inspect all hydraulic lines for leaks. Operate the hydraulic valve handles to confirm that the snow removal and lifting mechanisms move smoothly without delay or sticking. For the electrical system, test all lights: ensure the headlights, turn signals, and warning strobe lights illuminate properly. Check if the start and adjustment buttons on the control panel are fully functional, and verify that the emergency stop button can be triggered quickly. Inspect the wiring harnesses for damage or crushing deformation to prevent sudden loss of control during operation.

Finally, inspect the safety protective and auxiliary components to build a solid defense line for operational safety. Check if the vehicle's warning signs and reflective strips are intact and clear, and ensure the guardrails on the operating platform are not loose or missing. The onboard fire extinguisher must be confirmed to be within its expiration date and at the correct pressure for emergency use. The connecting pins and safety pins between the snow removal mechanism and the vehicle body must be properly locked to prevent the snowplow arm from detaching due to impact during operation. In low-temperature winter environments, accumulated ice and snow on the surface of the snowplow must be cleared in advance to avoid excessive load during startup. The pre-operation inspection of outdoor snowplows requires meticulous attention to detail, especially regarding the special requirements of low-temperature environments. Only through thorough component verification can snow clearing tasks be completed efficiently and safely during peak snowfall, minimizing the impact of snow on traffic.
